Jie Rong has been learning the piano at the age of 5 and also started composing at the age of 11. He attended Yamaha Junior Course for 3 years, and studied under his uncle, Mr Joseph Toh Kai Kim (NAFA) and received his Grade 8 ABRSM Piano Certificate at the age of 15. He graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts in 2013, with a Diploma in Music, majoring in Music Composition under Malaysian maestro, Dr. Chong Kee Yong (2011 and 2013) and local composer Ms. Joyce KohBeetuan (2012). As of now, he is mostly self-taught. -
