Have been teaching freelance on-and-off during the years of my studies in the UK; mainly beginner piano to kids, and contemporary worship piano to youths. I may not be a very experienced nor perfect teacher, but I love interacting with kids and making sure they are having fun learning the piano! I usually use the Piano Adventures book for kids. I am currently a freelance Music Educator teaching various primary schools (Keyboards, Vocals, Stomp, iPad Garageband), and also Music and Movement in preschools. I am also a Choir pianist in a primary school. -

Melissa graduated from the National University of Singapore and holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Honors) in Sociology. Her thesis’s fieldwork, which involved observing students in schools has given her an all-rounded understanding of children’s behavioral patterns from different age groups. In 2004, she attained the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano Grade 8 and in 2016, her dipABRSM in instrumental teaching. In 2016, she graduated from Northwestern State University with a Bachelor in Piano Performance. During her undergraduate years, she has been actively teaching private piano lessons and was the university’s concert choir accompanist. Melissa is constantly upgrading herself and has been attending Piano Conferences frequently. Her constant quest for knowledge coupled with her passion in teaching has widened her approaches towards teaching students with different abilities. As a dedicated and patient teacher, she believes in making her music classes enjoyable for children and maximizing their potentials to the fullest. -
