Courses Available:

1. Individual Piano Lessons (Beginners, Grade 1-8, Associate Diploma level).
2. Leisure Piano Lessons for Adults/Children.
3. Intensive Theory Lessons.

Lessons available at Teacher’s Studio near CCK/Bukit Panjang or at Student’s place.

Experience:

1. Six years of teaching experience, preparing students well for ABRSM exams in piano performance and music theory.
2. Taught at a music school before, coaching students in piano from Grade 1 to DipABRSM.
3. Worked for almost two years as a professional musician with the Singapore Armed Forces band, performing at various state and ceremonial events like National Day.
4. Experienced performer of Two-Piano works in multiple public concerts.
5. Piano accompanist for performances/recitals/exams/rehearsals.

About Edwin:

Edwin is a patient teacher with many years of experience with students of all ages and abilities. He has the uncanny ability to mentor advanced students, and at the same time engage beginners and young learners with fun and interactive lessons. Having served as the music director of the NTU Piano Ensemble, he has also coached performers before concerts at venues like the Esplanade. In addition, he has given a masterclass on works by Chopin as part of the Nanyang Arts Festival 2017. With a great focus on piano pedagogy, Edwin is constantly thinking of novel ideas to engage and help his students in learning. Edwin believes that learning is a joy, not a chore. Through a structured approach and hard-work, Edwin believes everyone can enjoy learning piano.

Edwin is a versatile pianist, regularly performing challenging two-piano works in public concerts and accompanying instrumentalists and vocalists. In 2011, he held a solo recital performing virtuosic works by Beethoven, Chopin and Ravel. His playing has been described as “captivating… with energy and spur contrasting with lyricism and serenity”. In addition, he has had postgraduate scholarship offers in piano studies. He is currently working towards a Masters of Arts in music focusing on piano pedagogy. Having also graduated with First Class Honours in Physics from Nanyang Technological University, Edwin spends his free time pondering the fate of the universe.
