Jie Ying started learning the piano at the age of 5 where she studied with her father. By the age of 7, she was already involved in many public solo and ensemble performances with the Musikinder Ensemble.

In 2005 and 2007 respectively, she achieved a Distinction for both her ATCL and LTCL Piano Performance Diploma Examinations from Trinity Guildhall.

In 2011, she graduated with a Distinction in Music Performance (Diploma) from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), where she studied under the tutelage of Dr Paul Liang (Graduated from Julliard School of Music) throughout the three years Diploma course. She won third prize in the 2010 NAFA Music Essentials Concerto Competition Piano Category with Saint Saens’ Piano Concerto no. 2 in G minor. She has also performed in numerous NAFA concerts including the “Piano Master pieces” and  recently in August 2013, she was invited to perform for the high scorers concert held in NAFA Lee Foundation Theatre.

Jie Ying has had the opportunities to study under many great pianists all over the world including Ms Rena Phua (Hong Kong), Toh Chee Hung (Singapore), Dennis Lee (Singapore), Yaron Kohlberg (Israel), Julian Jacobson (UK), Dina Parakhina (UK), Tong-II Han (Korea), Gordon Fergus Thompson (UK) and John Blakely (UK).

During her studies in NAFA, she was awarded the Ngee Ann Kongsi Merit Award thrice and was being offered the Yamaha Scholarship in 2010. Jie Ying is currently under the tutelage of Professor Boris Kraljevic and hold a First Class Honours degree from the prestigious Royal College of Music London.

Individual Piano Practical Fees – Lessons at my home in woodlands

Beginners to Grade 2 – $50 (45 Minutes)

Grade 3 – $50 (1 hour)

Grade 4 – $55 (1 hour)

Grade 5 – $60 (1 hour)

Grade 6 – $65 (1 hour)

Grade 7 – $70 (1 hour)

Grade 8 – $75 (1 hour)

Diploma ATCL – $80 (1 hour)

Note that:  Theory lessons and price of piano books are not included in the lesson fees above.

You can choose 2 options

1) Theory lessons to be taught after piano lessons. The rates below are for all grades until grade 5 only.
$12.50 for each additional 15 mins ($50 per month)
$25 for each additional 30 mins to piano lesson ($100 per month)

2) Include 15mins theory in your piano lesson time which I do not recommend as it will greatly reduce your time in your piano learning.

I also do accompaniments and give aural lessons to non pianists.
